The **LT Wright Pronghorn** is a cool outdoor knife, made according to the Scandinavian Puukko style. Relatively compact, and light-weight. But also great for many bushcraft, outdoor and hunting tasks.
The handle of a Puukko is always very straight. This might not look ergonomic, but it is exactly this type of ‘broomstick handle’ that offers you different ways of holding the knife. Even in ‘reverse grip’ for different bushcraft cutting techniques. LT Wright also enhanced the handle with ‘thumb scallops’. A type of cut-outs at the front of the handle that have enough room for your thumb. As such you have extra control and you will immediately feel how you are holding the knife.
## Blade made from O1 tool steel.
O1 is a tough type of steel that is incredibly strong and easy to sharpen. Even when you are out in the field with limited means. Compared to 1075 steel it retains its sharpness better. Do, however, be careful: O1 steel is not completely stainless. As such it will discolour in time and form a patina. To avoid rust you need to clean it after use and occasionally add a couple drops of oil.
The comfortable handle is made from micarta. A strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. Feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold circumstances.
This knife comes with a top-quality leather sheath.
## About LT Wright Knives
LT Wright Knives is an American outdoor brand. At LT Wright Knives they still largely work in an old-fashioned way. By hand ‘grinds’ or ‘bevels’ are added to the blades, the handles are glued together and shaped, and even the entire knife is finished by hand. This means that there can be subtle differences between the different versions of the same knife. Both in terms of finish and size. This is also the charm of LT Wright Handcrafted Knives: each knife is unique. It also means that sometimes it is difficult to keep all knives in stock. But the models that are labelled as ‘in stock’ on our website, are in stock and can immediately be delivered.
