The **Condor Kondoru Nakiri, CTK5001-7.0** is a sturdy kitchen knife that is mainly suitable for chopping vegetables, fruit and other soft ingredients. With its 2.85 millimetre blade, it can cut through even the thickest carrots! However, the Condor Kondoru Nakiri is not intended as a chopping knife! Too much chopping can cause irreparable damage to the edge.
### Kondoru series
Condor’s range of Kondoru kitchen knives are knives with soul. There is not a single robot involved in the production process in El Salvador. Everything is assembled and sharpened by hand. This is reflected in the finish of the knife – nothing is totally straight or perfect. Which is exactly what gives these knives their own identity. Of course, there are aspects of the finish that you could criticise here and there, but the overall appearance makes up for any little discrepancies. What’s more, these knives are absolutely razor-sharp thanks to the sharpening angle of around 11 degrees.
## The blade and leather sheath
The blade is made of bead-blasted 440C steel. This gives the blade a matte, light grey finish. 440C steel is known for its toughness and excellent sharpness retention. It is also easy to sharpen. To protect the blade (and your fingers!), the knife comes in a robust, hand-stitched leather sheath. This means the knife is even suitable for taking on outdoor adventures!
### The handle
The oval handle is made from dark walnut wood and light hickory wood, and secured with two brass rivets. The steel of the blade runs seamlessly throughout the whole length of the handle. This ensures that the knife doesn’t just look robust, but truly is robust.
