The **Bark River Bravo Tope Recon** is a large and robust fixed knife, designed in cooperation with Dan Tope. The handle was designed by Mike Stewart, founder of Bark River Knives, the blade was a carte blanche for knife maker Dan Tope. The result is a robust outdoor knife with a harpoon-point blade. It is so large and ergonomic you can use it for light chopping tasks. At the same time it is so agile and practical you can also use it for the finer tasks.
The blade is made from CPM 3V steel, a tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. It is very hard to break, and also retains its sharpness well. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. Make sure to clean it after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has a convex grind that can be maintained by stropping it.
The handle is made of canvas micarta, A strong and lightweight material made from canvas and synthetic resin. It feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold conditions.
The Bark River Bravo Tope Recon comes with a solid leather sheath. It offers many carrying options. Vertical on your belt, horizontally, for both left and right-handed users.
Bark River Knives makes all of its knives almost entirely by hand. This means that each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials, a knife may differ from the photos. Therefore the knife you receive might be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
