The **Bark River Classic Drop Point Hunter** is the Bark River interpretation of the famous Drop Point knives made by Bob Loveless. According to many a perfect hunting knife. The size is the same, only the grind drastically changed. It namely has a convex grind as befits Bark River. The result is a stronger and razor-sharp edge. The steel finger guard (crop) makes sure your finger doesn’t slip and ends up on the edge. The handle is ergonomically shaped. Curves wherever necessary and flat parts your fingers can comfortably rest on in different positions.
The blade is made from CPM 3CV-steel. A tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. As such it won’t break and will retain its sharpness well. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. So clean it after use and occasionally add a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).
The handle is made from canvas micarta. A strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. Feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold circumstances.
The Bark River Classic Drop Point Hunter comes with a leather belt sheath. You can carry it both straight (belt width up to 5.5 cm) and diagonally (belt width up to 6.0 cm).
Bark River makes all of its knives almost completely by hand. As such each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials a knife can differ from the photographs. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
