The **Case Muskrat** is a traditional pocket knife. As the name might already suggest this pocket knife was originally designed for a very specific tasks: skinning muskrats. Of course this is no longer a daily task for many nowadays, but history makes it a fun *conversation piece*. Characterizing about this pocket knife is that it has two blades, both exactly the same. You might think this is relatively pointless, but the opposite is true. Originally this pocket knife was namely designed keeping in mind that you need to sharpen your knife. If the first blade is blunt you can simply use the second, razor-sharp blade. As such you never have to work with a blunt knife.
## Case Tru-Sharp SS steel
The blade is made from Case Tru-Sharp SS. This is a stainless type of steel that is similar to 420HC steel. Characterizing about this type of steel is that you can quickly sharpen it and have a razor-sharp knife.
## Brilliant Green Bone, Smooth
The handle is made from *Brilliant Green Bone*. This is basically cow bone that is enhanced with an emerald-green colour. A playful element added to the classic handles Case is so known for. The handle is enhanced with a polished finish.
## Case Knives: traditional pocket knives
Case has been producing pocket knives ever since 1889. Each pocket knife is assembled and finished by hand, relatively unique for an American brand. As a result each Case knife is unique. Case knives are incredibly collectible and a great addition to your standard EDC pocket knife. Nice as a gift, for someone else as well as for yourself.
