The **Lodge Classic Cast Iron mini frying pan** is a small cast iron frying pan. Perfect when serving side dishes, or to make sure your sauce stays warm on the BBQ. The cast-iron retains the heat well and perfectly distributes it. The frying pan can be used on all cooking hobs. Put it in the oven, or your stove, or hang it over an open flame. It even works on induction.
## Maintaining your Lodge frying pan
As the sheet is produced it is treated with vegetable oil based on soya. As a result you end up with a natural non-stick coating. And each time you use cast iron Lodge products, this non-stick coating will only become better. Maintaining it, however, is very important. Clean the sheet after use with water and a little bit of detergent. It is not dishwasher proof. If there is still some left-over food sticking to the pan, scrape it off with a [pan scraper.] Having trouble removing the left-over food? Simmer a little bit of water on the sheet for 3-5 minutes. Afterwards you can easily scrape out any left-over residue. Properly dry the sheet after cleaning it and add a small layer of [oil] to the pan. Always make sure you store the sheet in a dry place. Otherwise it can start to rust!
