The **Helle Didi Galgalu 610** is an all-round outdoor knife, designed in cooperation with the South African team Voetspore. The name Didi Galgalu comes from the Kenyan desert with the same name. This knife is made to withstand trips through Africa. The blade is made from stainless Sandvik 12C27 steel. The handle is made from a typically African type of wood: kiaat. This type of wood is sometimes also called African teak wood. When you look at the pattern of the wood you indeed see the similarity. Red liners were placed in between the scales and the tang of the blade. The comfortable finger grooves make the knife feel amazing in hand. Truly a knife you know is meant to be used.
The knife comes with a traditional Scandinavian leather sheath.
## Maintaining Helle knives
Both the handle and the blade need to be dried with a soft towel if they get wet. We also recommended occasionally adding wax or oil.
The sheath should occasionally be impregnated with a colourless agent (grease or wax) to make sure it stays flexible. Dry the sheath carefully at room temperature if it gets wet.
All Helle knives are made and finished by hand. As such each knife is a unique masterpiece because every pattern is different.
