The **Tramontina Churrasco Amigos meat pens** are great during a BBQ. You don’t even need an actual barbecue. You can also light an open fire and hang a long skewer over the fire on a support. The skewer is solid enough for it because they are shaped like a V. As well as providing strength, this shape also ensures that the meat rotates with the skewer and does not move freely on the skewer.
## Tramontina Churrasco blade and handle
For this collection Tramontina used stainless steel. Because it is corrosion resistant it is also perfect for cutlery. The handles are made from Polywood. Not the Polywood you might know from garden furniture. Tramontina has a unique production technique when making the handles. They stick thin slices of wood on top of each other. Afterwards synthetic resin is added that fill the pores of the wood. As such the wood no longer absorbs moisture and is also a lot stronger. The wood is enhanced with an FSC label, the label for sustainable forestry. So compared to the traditional Polywood this is real wood and not plastic.
## Tramontina Churrasco: Brazilian BBQ
In South America, they know how to barbecue! The rich BBQ history leads us back to the Tropeiros. which is the Portuguese name for cowboys in Brazil. They worked with whatever was available to survive while herding cattle. On the Pampas, that meant leather, meat and wood.
The cowboys gathered around the fire and told stories while they enjoyed the barbecued meat. Today you no longer have to BBQ to survive. And yet we still value barbecuing just like those cowboys of old. Gathering together to enjoy good food, fun and camaraderie.
Tramontina states that the knives are dishwasher proof. If, however, you want to enjoy these products as long as possible, we recommend washing them by hand.
