The Le Creuset 3-ply 2.8L saucepan with lid has a diameter of 18 cm. Perfect when preparing vegetables, potatoes or pasta, or for making sauces and side-dishes. With the long handle you can easily move the pan with one hand. And pouring is a piece of cake as well, because you can lift the pan with one hand and use the other to control the lid. Because the handle itself might not be enough this saucepan has been enhanced with a helper handle. As such you can easily move the pan with two hands. The stylish matt design makes the pan a sight for sore eyes on your stove. A pan for life, with a lifetime guarantee.
## Materials and construction
The pans from the 3-ply collection are comprised of a three layer system called 3-ply. Two outer layers of stainless steel with an aluminium core. This sandwich construction is used throughout the pan, from the bottom to the rims. As such you will have a fine heat conduction and heat zones are prevented. Because of this construction the pans quickly respond to changes in temperature that occur on the stove. Say goodbye to burnt dishes and hello to delicious and perfectly cooked food.
## How to use
We advise you to remove the labels and stickers before you start using the pan. Wash it with hot water and some soap and dry it properly. Washing this pan can be done by hand, but it is also dishwasher proof. However, keep in mind the fact that putting the pan in the dishwasher might affect the finish.
Always match the pan base size to the hob heat zone it is to be used on. Gas flames must always be confined to the base area and never extend up around the sides of the pan. If possible, use utensils made of wood, plastic or silicone. Metal utensils, forks or spoons can carefully be used, but should never scratch the surface. Also never cut food inside the pan or tap metal utensils against the sides of the pan. Light scratches can be visible during normal use, but will not affect the function of the pan.
A content indication has been added to the insides of the 3-ply collection. Extremely useful because it will help you measure fluids. In addition, when you are reducing sauces you can check to see how much fluids you have lost.
## The history of the Le Creuset pans
The basis for the success of the Le Creuset pans was forged in 1924 at the exhibition in Brussels. Armand Desaegher (cast iron expert) and Octave Aubecq (enamel expert) combined forces and decided to establish a company together. It turned out to be a golden combination and ever since 1925 they have been conquering the world with their Le Creuset enamelled pans.
Throughout the years Le Creuset has continued to modernise. Every single time the designers went back to the drawing board where they came up with new designs, models and colours. Le Creuset pans are simply very good. The name Le Creuset is synonymous with excellence and innovation. Whether you are looking for a casserole, grill pan, frying pan, or sauce pan: you can’t go wrong with Le Creuset.
