The **Case Medium Stockman** is a true classic in the pocket knife world. This pattern is almost as old as the entire category of Traditionals. This Case Stockman is a very pure incarnation of this classic model. It has been enhanced with three blades: a clippoint blade as *main blade*, a 5.0 cm sheepfoot blade and, the for the Stockman almost indispensable blade, the Spey-blade: a spearpoint with a type of blunt tip. Originally this type of blade was used to skin game.
The three blades are, when opened, kept in place by a slipjoint lock. Because Case has, in this case, used two lock-springs to keep three blades in place it is inevitable that the blades are very close together and even touch each other when closed. This is part of the design and also gives it its authentic charm.
This medium version closely resembles the normal Stockman. The only real difference is that the Medium Stockman has slightly less-higher blades. As such it is a little slimmer.
## Case CV Carbon steel
The blade is made from Case Chrome Vanadium steel, also called CV steel. A type of steel that is praised for the fact that it can easily be sharpened. With only a minimal amount of effort you can end up with a razor-sharp knife. You do, however, have to look out for rust. Long-term exposure to moisture, salt or acids will discolour the blade or even cause rust. Enthusiasts will appreciate that a *patina* will form on the blade over time. This means that the steel will become matte, and grey. As such the knife will get a character of its own and become unique.
## Yellow Synthetic handle
The handle on this pocket knife is made from yellow synthetic material. The yellow colour ensures that the knife definitely stands out, in case you ever lose it. The synthetic material feels great in hand and even feels comfortable in very low temperatures.
## Case Knives: traditional pocket knives
Case has been making pocket knives since 1889. Each knife is assembled and finished by hand which is unique for an American brand. As such each Case knife is unique. Case knives are very collectable and are great companions to your standard EDC pocket knife. Great as a gift, for yourself and for someone else.
