The **Fox Chilin FX-530** Is an elegant EDC pocket knife with outstanding ergonomics. It was designed by famous Danish designer Jesper Voxnaes. When he was designing the Chilin, he drew inspiration from China’s ‘Shilin Cutter’ knives. These are traditional, handmade knives from the Chiu family. This knife features the same distinctive and ergonomic design elements. The Fox Chilin is the modern interpretation of the ‘Shilin Cutter’ knives, with a Scandinavian-Voxnaes twist.
## Böhler M398 steel blade
The blade of this Fox Chilin is made from Austrian Böhler M398 steel. A stainless type of steel that retains its sharpness for a long time. M398 steel is similar to the well-known M390 steel. Compared to M390, M398 is more wear-resistant and has a higher sharpness retention, but it’s a bit les tough and a bit more difficult to sharpen than M390. You open the blade of the Chilin with the thumb hole, after which a strong liner lock will lock the blade. On top of the blade you will find grip serrations. You can place your thumb or index finger here when you’re cutting, to improve your grip. The blade has a black PVD coating with a stonewashed finish.
## Titanium handle
The handle is made from premium titanium. With ridges for extra grip. You can easily carry this knife with the deep-carry wire pocket clip. The pocket clip is interchangeable, so it’s suitable for right-handed people and left-handed people. The end of the handle features a backspacer with a lanyard hole.
