The **Bark River Ultra Lite Field Knife** was designed to be the ultimate all-round knife. Naturally, the knife excels at bushcraft tasks like all Bark River knives. But with the combination of a harpoon-shaped blade and not fully rounded handle scales, this knife can do much more. Think of eviscerating game, tasks in and around camp and even preparing food is no problem for this knife.
The blade is made from CPM 3CV-steel. A type of tool steel known for its exceptional strength. As such it won’t break and will retain its sharpness well. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. So clean it after use and occasionally add a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).
The handle is made from aluminium gauze filled with white and red-coloured resin. This doesn’t only look amazing, it makes each knife unique. Like the grains in a piece of wood. This gives the handle an extraordinary look.
The Bark River Ultra Lite Field Knife comes with a leather belt sheath. You can carry it both straight (belt width up to 5.5 cm) or diagonally (belt width up to 6.0 cm). The sheath also has a loop for a firesteel (max. diameter ~7.0 mm).
Bark River makes all of their knives almost completely by hand. As a result, each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials, a knife can differ from the photographs. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
