The **Bark River Mini Bushcrafter** is a perfect, small light-weight bushcraft knife. The blade is thin, razor-sharp and large enough to carry out smaller tasks. With its three-finger grip you have enough grip over the knife. With this knife Bark River is focusing on bushcraft enthusiasts and hikers who pay close attention to weight. The knife itself weighs only 52 grams and with the edge you end up with (approx.) 100 grams. As such it is a very light-weight and compact option with which standard tasks around the campfire become a piece of cake.
The blade is made from CPM 3CV-steel. A tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. As such it won’t break and will retain its sharpness well. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. So clean it after use and occasionally add a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).
The handle is made from canvas micarta. A strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. Feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold circumstances. Red liners were placed in between the scales and the tang. A very nice detail which is in great contrast with the rest of the knife.
The Bark River Mini Bushcrafter comes with a leather belt sheath. It is perfect for both left and right-handed use (max. belt width 4.7 cm).
Bark River makes all of its knives almost completely by hand. As such each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials a knife can differ from the photographs. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
