With the Lansky Four Rod Diamond/Ceramic sharpening system you can quickly sharpen your knives. It works like the Spyderco Sharpmaker.
**Assuming we are dealing with a blunt knife, the system works as follows:**
* Place the two included diamond-coated sharpening rods in the appropriate holes of the wooden box (like is shown in the picture).
* Place the Lansky on a solid base and keep it in place with your hand.
* Take your knife and move the edge alongside each rod with at a 90-degree angle without applying pressure approx. 20 to 40 times.
* Afterwards replace the diamond-coated rods with the fine ceramic rods and repeat the same procedure.
First sharpen your knife according to the method mentioned above with the rods placed at a 20-degree angle. (also see the image).
Afterwards you take the rods from the holder and place them in the other two holes at a 25-degree angle, after which you only move your knife alongside the rods a couple times.
This last treatment removes burrs and also leaves you with a more sustainable edge.
The end result is, literally, a razor-sharp knife.
Also perfect in combination with a honing steel to make sure your knives stay sharp.
For the above mentioned procedure only use the white fine ceramic rods.
**Scope of delivery:**
* Wooden box with 20 and 25-degree holes for the ceramic rods.
* 4 sharpening rods, each 12.5 cm long (2 diamond-coated medium grit, and 2 white fine grit).
* You can also store the ceramic rods inside the box.
**Because of the relatively short length of the ceramic rods the Pocket Ceramic Sharpening System is mostly suited for shorter knives.**
